The Investment

Psychologist in Petaluma

Psychotherapy and neurofeedback are best seen as investments in you and your well-being. It is easy to forego your own needs and simply adapt – in fact, most of the clients with whom I work say that have spent much of their life “just dealing with things” like debilitating depression, anxiety, symptoms of concussion, panic attacks, and PTSD. And although survival mode can become comfortable in some strange way when we’ve been in it for so long, there is so much more available to us with the right support. In fact, these very same clients are just the ones who say, “I can’t believe I waited so long to get help. I never knew it was possible to feel like myself again.”

If you are in that position, take a moment to consider the life you would like for yourself and compare it to the life you are living. How much of a discrepancy is there between the two? Isn’t that life worth the investment?

"No Surprises Act"

As of January 2022, if you do not have insurance, or are not using insurance for your services, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call CMS at 1-800-985-3059.
